Great Amber multifunctional centre

The new concert hall “Great Amber” (Lielais dzintars) is a regional centre for culture and events. The concert hall covers an area of 14,126 m² over eight storeys. It houses three concert halls – the Great Hall with 1,000 seats, the Chamber Hall with 200 seats and the Experimental Stage with 120 seats.

The architectural concept of the concert hall, created by the outstanding Austrian architect Prof. Volker Giencke, is based on the symbol of Liepāja found on the Latvian and Baltic Sea coast – amber – as well as its function as a centre of art and culture.

At this site, black floor structure construction and Estrich screed floor construction were carried out, including installation of the Thermowhite floor sound/thermal insulation system (WD 100R + PE 5/300).
